Cass County Texas. Scottsbluff. “This is the finest Scottsbluff I have ever seen” Dwain Rogers. “It is not only the best Scottsbluff from Texas, but I consider it the best Cody Culture piece anywhere” Leslie Pfeiffer. Extremely long and exceptionally well made example. Made of heavily patinated semi-translucent rootbeer flint from central Texas. The pressure flake shaping and overall workmanship is phenomenal. Has rounded median ridges running its length on each face, and the thickness tapers evenly from center to base and tip. Stem and basal edges are ground smooth. It has two minor edge dings, but no filler restoration. Reportedly found by a Mr. Cannon many decades ago. Previously collected by Floyd Ritter and Leslie Pfeiffer. Pictured in The Finest Artifacts of Prehistoric Texas. (6-3/4" X 1 3/16")
