Cochran County. "one of the best, if not the best examples ever found in Texas" -Dwain Rogers. It was discovered by Kenneth Bilbrey in a wash out in far west Texas. Made from a buttery yellow-orange opaque flint, with glossy sand polish patination. Percussion flaked very thin with heavy pressure flake shaping and fine edge all along both sides. The perfect tip is extremely thin and rounded. Classic deep punch flaked notches curve outward. There is a thinning flute running the length of the stem on one side. Base is concave and ground smooth. Pictured in The Finest Artifacts of Prehistoric Texas, and Journal of Texas Archeology and History Vol 6, Pg 51.
