Milam County, Texas. Andice "one of the best two known" Dwain Rogers. Large, finely made Classic first stage example with perfect symmetry and condition. Made from a light grey fine grained opaque chert. Deep punch flake notches form wide ears and a long straight based stem, which has two long thinning flakes on one side and one smaller one on the other. Notches are straight and V upward from the base. From the perfect tip the blade edges flair out a bit at the ears then curve back in at the bottom corners of the ears, which are as long as the stem. Together the base of the stem and ears appears slightly convex. Previously collected by Ted Nemec. Pictured in The Finest Artifacts of Prehistoric Texas, and Journal of Texas Archeology and History Vol 6, Pg 51. (4-1/4" x 2-3/16")
