Polk County, Texas. Dovetail, found near the Trinity river by Margaret and James Wells between 1977 and 1995. Large and very well made example. Controlled pressure flaked all over and has glossy surface patina on both sides. Made from a mottled tan-brown chert. Convex blade edges to a good tip and nice pointed barbs. Basal corner notches with an expanded stem having a rounded base but straight only in the middle. Stem edges are ground. Has a fat smooth tapering feel like a good Scottsbluff. “One of the best Dovetails from Texas!” Bill German. Previously collected by Margaret and James Wells, Don Black and Bill German. 3-1/2" X 1-1/2") E.B
