Angelina County, Texas. Dovetail “of a special type found along the Texas /Louisiana border” Gregory Perino. Found near Propher Creek at the Angelina River, Lake Sam Rayburn vicinity. Perfect and exceptionally well made example made from tan cobble chert with grey and orange swirls. Surface is sand polished. Side notched up at an angle with a broad dovetail stem having heavily ground edges. Median ridge on each face and blade was resharpened and shortened in the process. Sharpened in the plains, Scottsbluff fashion and not beveled. Beautiful colors and shape. Definitely Scottsbluff people influenced its production?
