Central East Texas. Boatstone, found in the 1970's by Max Owens, a schoolteacher from Lufkin. This is a very large, complete and symmetrical example. Pecked out, shaped, smoothed and highly polished allover. Holes are drilled through near each end. Bottom is rounded as the keel of the boat and tapers towards each end, and the top is deeply dished out. It is made from grey speckled granite, not from the region. Previously collected by Max Owens and Frederick Martin (6" X 2-1/8") E.B
